Spicy savings in the CheapTweet mailroom

From time to time, we like to check in with our mailroom clerk, Andrew Ishak, and see what sorts of mail we’re getting at CheapTweet headquarters. Here, Andrew gets a letter from a reader with a big problem, sending him on an investigation of how to save money by buying spices in bulk.

Got a question for Andrew? He reads emails, too, so feel free to send him your questions. Maybe he’ll read it in the next CheapTweet mailroom video!

If you like this video, be sure to check out Andrew’s other work. He produces Yakademics, a hilarious video series about the field of communication, and created a film called Out of Egypt, a documentary about Coptic American culture. You can also find him on Twitter (@ishak).

  3. So glad I know what to do about Panda blood now. Honestly though, I never actually thought about buying them in bulk. Great idea. Will do from now on :) Thanks Andrew!

  4. Andrew-

Have you had any encounters with law enforcement when buying in bulk? I mean, the baggy, the herbs…sounds like you’re opening yourself up for some real legal problems. Any advice in this area?

  5. Scott, I flew home last Easter with about 10 small bags of herbs. I was scared the bomb sniffing dogs would eat my bag. My advice is this: if you are only buying green and white herbs and spices, try to mix in some other colors that are not as suspicious.

  7. Very awesome. I have the urge to buy spices now.
I also have the urge to cook a rotisserie chicken.
